We need your help!
Mental Health and Addictions in the community is a growing problem. It has become a global issue and the impact on society is overwhelming. The human cost is immense and people dealing with addictions are our family, friends, neighbours and co-workers.
In Windsor/Essex, access to addictions treatment is the biggest barrier for people who are seeking treatment and far too many are having to wait to get the help they need. For Brentwood, and other addiction treatment centres, access to treatment is largely a financial issue. Our treatment beds and programs are underfunded by the current provincial funding system, which has led to bed closures, reduced programming and services, and a wait list of up to six weeks for people seeking treatment. This has also put an overwhelming financial burden on our fundraising to make up significant funding shortfalls.
We rely heavily on generous people like you who donate to our program. These funds help keep critical programs and services going, so people get the help they need. People like Mary, who came to us several years ago, broken, lost and hopeless. She weighed 89 lbs. and was suffering from drug addiction. Mary was full of guilt and shame over the choices she had made in the past and reported little to no self-worth. After successfully graduating from our live-in-treatment program, Mary is now sober, employed and passionate about her new life.
Your support helps transform lives, like Ben who came to us when he was 20; broken, lost and hopeless. He began his Brentwood journey after a series of circumstances and decisions led him to substance misuse. At a young age, and despite overwhelming odds, Ben chose change and started working on his sobriety. Ben is now eight years sober! He is happy and wants people to know “…the gifts and opportunities I have in my life today because of Brentwood are ones I never thought possible. Brentwood has given me the tools to live a life I can truly be proud of”.
We need your help NOW! Our operating cost is in the millions, and demand for our programs and services grows each year. Clients are also coming to us with greater needs, and we are asking that you give today because too many are waiting for the help they need.
Together, we can provide more care for those who need it and together we can help make success stories like Mary and Ben’s a reality for others.
